The men below all came from the Stubbin Colliery to work at Silverwood, as per the dates shown below. Where a miners entry has a link [ more ] , that link will take you to further information on that miner. Please note that some street names occurred in different localities as in Doncaster Road which could be in Rotherham, Dalton, Thrybergh, or Hooton Roberts. School Street can be Thrybergh or Eastwood Rotherham. Some of the Miners have no address listed. Where locality is known it will be recorded below. There were two collieries named Stubbin, the older Low Stubbin which worked
the Barnsley seam and the New Stubbin Colliery which was to work on the
Parkgate seam, the latter being sunk in 1913 at Greasbrough. Earl Fitzwilliam
was the owner of both mines. |
