1985 ONE MILLION TONNES 1986 Presented by James Williamson |
The photo above was kindly submitted by James Williamson ex Kilnhurst Colliery miner who did some of his training at Silverwood. O.k. now can anyone name the one million tonne lads in the photo? |
1985 to 1986 was the year Silverwood held the second highest profit in the area, and produced a record first in the area of one million tonnes of coal. The cost per gigajoule was £1.28 and the OMS was 3.28 Tonnes. This production was produced by a workforce of 1, 342 men at the time.
