THE ORIGINS OF SILVERWOOD MINERS MANVERS MAIN COLLIERY |

Manvers Main Collieries Ltd., Wath-on-Dearne, Rotherham, Yorks. owned the mine in 1945 prior to the mines being nationalized. Sunk to the Barnsley seam in 1868, under nationalization it also became a training ground for young miners.
The men below worked at Manvers Main Colliery before signing on at Silverwood. . Where a miners entry has a link [ more ] , that link will take you to further information on that miner. Please note that some street names occurred in different localities, as in Doncaster Road which could be in Rotherham, Dalton, Thrybergh, or Hooton Roberts.
