Johnson the trains did
indeed run long after the demolition work had been completed.
George writes "that picture was taken summer of
96., just before some firm moved in with many huts and machinery and
moving one very large pile of waste dirt to another pile,. this must
have gone on for several years |

Engines 58007+58044 were captured on film leaving Silverwood Colliery on the 29th May 1996. The film can be purchased at http://www.rail-video.com GLOBE VIDEO FILMS . Other items concerning trains at Silverwood are two Worksplates Worksplate "The English Electric
Company Ltd. London. No 2388 1958 Works Stafford Preston Rugby.
Bradford. Liverpool." Works number and date stamped into raised pads
either side of 'EE' roundel. Small threaded hole each side between
pad and roundel and outline of oval shaped covering plate/badge
present. Originates from 3' gauge locomotive supplied to the
National Coal Board and used at Silverwood Colliery. Plate is ex
loco, rectangular cast brass, majority of chrome plate present. 10"
