There were many miners at Silverwood who came from Ireland, the ones below came direct from Ireland to sign on at Silverwood, or actually worked at a mine named Ireland [ see below ] Where a miners entry has a link [ more ] , that link will take you to further information on that miner. The Ireland Colliery was owned by Stanton and Stavely Iron Works situated at Staveley Derbyshire. In 1921 the mine is listed with J. Hunter as Manager, and L. W. Limb as undermanager. The mine at this time had 1,177 men underground and 372 men on the surface
