I used to watch Cliff Lawrence and his brother sparing in the ring which was under the canteen at Silverwood. Me and a mate used to get in the ring and belt the crap out of each other just for fun . There wouldn't have been many mines with a boxing ring set up.

That brother would have been Ron Lawrence who was also a boxer.
