Hooton Lane Cottages |

1900 Edith Butler was born at Wakefield and with her brother Ernest went to live in Ravenfield with their grandparents, William and Annie Butler when both their parents died when she was less than 1 year old. Their sister Lilley went to live with their paternal grandparents John and Mary Stacey also in Ravenfield.
1901 My Grandmother Elsie Goodwin nee Butler was born in Ravenfield on
01/01/1903.She was actually born at midnight as the bells were announcing New
Year, in a barn. Her parents were George and Alice Butler (who were in
Ravenfield at
the time but presumably homeless although I don't know this) Alice's maiden name
was Halifax.
