Plaintiff The King  Deforcients  Robert, Prior of the Monastery of St Pancras, Lewes Manor of Halyfax and 4 messuages with lands in Halyfax, Heptonstall, Tronflete, Wakefeld, Cunsborough, Braywell, Herthill in parish of Sandall, Donyngton, Southerby, Warlegh, Ovynden, Wydgeley, Waddesworth, Langfeld, Eryngden, Russheworth, Norland, Barsland, Stayneland, Eland, Greteland, Rastrik, Fixby, Totehill, Brighouse, Southowrom, Hyprom, Northowrom, Shelf, Stircott, Stansfeld, Clifton, Waresworth, Ranfeld, Morthyng, Dalton and Grysbroke, also the rectories of the churches of Halyfax, Cunsborough, and Braywell, and the advowsons of the same and of Herthill in the parish of Sandall.

 

In 1558 the manor at Thrybergh was described as extending into Dalton and contained  2 watermills, 5 messuages, 10 cottages, 100 acres of land, 40 meadows, 100 of pasture and 2 shillings 4d rent (Hunter, 1831).

1582 Concerning the Fuljambe Family For 100 25 score dozen of "charkcole" to be cut in Rounde woodde near Aldwarke manor house and in Hileclif Springe wood next to woods of Frances Leake, esq., within 4 years.

 

On the 26th November in the year of  Eliz. I. 1583 the Foljambe family of Osberton, Nottinghamshire receipt for 31 11s 11d,  for half a year's chief rents, due to the Queen from estates at Morthinge, Brampton, Howton under Hagge, Dalton Magna, Dalton Parva, Sladehouton, Cokriddinges, Bramleye, Ranfeild, Swinton, Rawmershe, Over Haughe, Nether Haughe, Cortworthe, Gresbrooke, Abdye, Thorpe, Hesheleye and Meuxborowe .
